Spaced Out Potter Rosemary Apple Blossom Lonewolf (Santa Clara Pueblo) is a fourth generation of the Tafoya-Lonewolf family. The traditional Pueblo Indian methods and techniques she employs date back over 2000 years to the ancient Anasazi culture. Her techniques were learned through the time-honored methods of hands-on experiential learning, not in a formal college or university setting. Her native clay is hand-mined and mixed, pots formed using pinch or coil methods, not on a wheel, hand-worked, burnished and fired using an outdoor flame. Initially she produced pots within the tradition she had been taught, but has evolved to include very contemporary iconography which reflects her personal life experiences: pregnancy, feelings about her mixed heritage (Pueblo Indian/Scotch/Irish), reflections on the Columbus Quincentenary and even space exploration.
