Metalsmith Tim Tiger (Creek/Muscogee) creates sculptural pieces from a variety of metals. His work often refers to the relationship between the federal government and the tribes a political statement about the treatment and stereotyping of Indian people. He utilizes many of the symbols and graphics found in traditional Native jewelry but in a stunning visual manner more familiar to craft galleries of New York or Chicago than what might be normally thought of as Native American art.
