Egg and Pedestal Potter Nathan Youngblood (Santa Clara Pueblo) is a sixth generation descendant from the renowned Tafoya family, and works in a much more traditional way. Hand-formed from native clays, hand-burnished, and wood- and manure-fired, his vessels show the timeless visual qualities of the Santa Clara Pueblo. His works are subtly influenced by the work Nathan has experienced first-hand in museums, galleries and in his role as teacher, mentor and master craftsman. His vessels grace the nation as part of the White House Craft Collection and he shares his experience and vision as a member of the Board of Directors of the American Craft Council, among others. |
